Today, the Varna District Court will hold a pre-trial hearing in the case against Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev and the municipal councilors detained with him.
They are accused of participating in a criminal conspiracy, soliciting bribes and coercion for the purpose of property gain, BNT recalled.
The mayor of the seaside capital and the other defendants were arrested on July 8 during an operation by the Anti-Corruption Commission.
Currently, they are on bail.
