Violeta Komitova from MECH made sharp criticism of the last government on the air of “Zdravej, Bulgaria“ on “Nova TV“. According to her, the so-called “assembly“, created in the name of stability, ended with a series of failures, especially in the construction sector.

Komitova stated that about 2.8 billion euros were spent in 18 months, and according to her, the funds planned for a four-year period were spent significantly faster. “This money did not go towards actual road maintenance“, she stressed.

According to her, part of the funds were directed towards payments to companies in the context of the upcoming elections, which, in her opinion, raises questions about the transparency and appropriateness of the spending. She also expressed concerns that additional budget funds for construction will have to be allocated.

As an example of problematic practices, Komitova pointed to the “Hemus“ highway, which she described as “a symbol of a corruption scheme“. According to her, there is a lack of both completed infrastructure projects and clarity about the funds spent.

She also accused the government of a lack of progress on key projects, including the construction of a national children's hospital, stating that instead of real results, inefficient use of resources is observed.

The MECH Party emphasizes that they are emphasizing national priorities and the fight against corruption. Komitova noted that there are similarities in their positions with Rumen Radev's coalition on the topic of countering corrupt practices and dismantling the oligarchic model, and did not rule out opportunities for partnership in this direction.
