Woman has leg amputated after serious train accident near Isperih

According to initial information, the woman illegally entered the railway line. The driver tried to stop, but failed due to the short distance

A woman is in serious condition and has a leg amputated after being hit by a train between the Dulovo and Isperih railway stations. The train schedule in the section between the two stations has been disrupted, the Bulgarian National Radio reported.

The accident occurred at around 6:30 a.m., about 500-600 meters from the Ruyno stop, when passenger train No. 91101 passed along the Silistra - Samuil line.

According to initial information, the woman illegally entered the railway line. The driver attempted to stop, but was unable to due to the short distance.

The victim was transported in severe shock to the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment in Silistra, where amputation of her lower limb above the knee was necessary. Her condition remains serious.

The incident has disrupted the train schedule on the section, with delays expected along the route.
