A child was shot with an air rifle by his friend, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Lovech announced.
The incident happened last night. One child inadvertently shot the other in the Teteven village of Glogovo.
A report about it was received at around 6:00 p.m. at the Teteven Regional Directorate. It was established that a little earlier the two boys had taken the rifle and one had shot the other while playing in a wooded area near the village.
The injured child was taken to the emergency medical service branch in Teteven, where he was released after an examination.
The injured child's parents refused assistance from the police. The rifle belongs to a 60-year-old man, the injured child's grandfather, and was taken without his knowledge.
The weapon was not registered in accordance with the due procedure, for which a report was drawn up.
An investigation has been initiated in the Teteven Regional Police Department.
