There is no danger to the lives of the foreigners stabbed on Thursday evening in the center of Sofia. Two men - Germans, aged 63 and 65 - were taken to “Pirogov“, the hospital announced this morning.
“The night passed peacefully for the 63-year-old patient, who was operated on late last night. The German citizen was admitted for treatment to the Second Surgical Clinic of the hospital. The wound of his 65-year-old compatriot, who was injured in the same incident, was surgically treated and he is no longer a patient at the hospital,“ the hospital specified.
The injured women were taken to the Military Medical Academy, where their wounds were treated and they were released without the need for hospitalization, BTA reported.
The woman who is believed to have stabbed the four has been detained, the Ministry of Interior announced shortly after midnight. According to information from the Sofia police, she is 39 years old.
At 7:30 p.m. yesterday evening, she first wounded the two men with a knife in the area of the “Vasil Levski Stadium” metro station. About 15 minutes later, a second report was received about two women who had been stabbed at the 94 bus stop on “Cherni Vrah” Blvd. in the direction of the “Hemus" hotel.
It is still unclear whether the 39-year-old woman has a mental illness and what her motives were.
