„BSP has changed – and this change is already being felt.“. This was stated by the leader of the list of „BSP – UNITED LEFT“ in the 23rd MIR - Sofia Gabriel Valkov before Eurocom, emphasizing that the left is entering the campaign with new energy, new faces and a clear mission – restoring justice in Bulgarian society.
According to him, 80 young candidates for MPs are a clear sign that the party meets the expectations for renewal. „We saw it in the protests too – young people want change. We have also changed to achieve it.“, pointed out Valkov.
“We see it everywhere – full halls, people of all ages who want to hear our ideas and support us. This trust obliges us.“, the socialist also said.
Valkov also highlighted specific results achieved by the left in the last National Assembly, including the reduction of interest rates on student loans from 7% to 3%. “This is real support for young people – so that they can study, develop and stay in Bulgaria.“, he emphasized.
As a key priority, Valkov also outlined policies for young families – with an emphasis on affordable housing. &ndquo; We have committed 1 billion euros to the construction of 2,000 new homes &ndquo; for young families, for people with disabilities and for vulnerable groups. The state must provide a home where the market cannot.“, he said.
According to him, however, the biggest problem in Bulgaria remains the lack of justice – both social, economic and judicial. “It is not normal for some to live on 620 euros a month, while others earn millions a day. This is not just inequality – this is injustice.“, said Valkov.
According to him, the solution is the introduction of progressive income taxation – higher taxes for the richest and relief for working people. “There should be a non-taxable minimum and protection for the middle class. The burden should be borne by those who can afford it – not those who choose between bread and medicine.“, he emphasized.
Valkov also emphasized the need for equal access to healthcare and justice. “Today there are people who wait for hours for an ambulance, and others for whom the law does not apply. This must change.“, he stated.
He also recalled the preservation of the Swiss rule for pension indexation as an important but insufficient step. “In order to have higher pensions, there must be a fair tax system and real redistribution.“, Valkov added.
“BSP - UNITED LEFT“ is the only authentic left alternative in these elections. People want a social and just state, which only the left can achieve.“, concluded Gabriel Valkov.
