„I am starting the campaign with a very optimistic mood, because we have a unique chance not only in Burgas, but in the whole country in general to once and for all end the model that kept citizens steadily poor.

Under Borisov and Peevski, we did not move from last place in Europe for so many years. The last four years, despite wars, despite crises, we have been catching up and are no longer last. But for things to get better, for there to be money for citizens, for them to have income, pensions, salaries for young families, corruption must be stopped“.

This was said by the leader of „We Continue the Change“ Assen Vassilev in Burgas, where he met with citizens yesterday.

„Everyone saw – if there is corruption, they go straight into their pockets, collect their money and go to some companies“, said Assen Vassilev. He recalled the “golden meadow“ at the “Kozloduy“ nuclear power plant, which the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet wanted to buy for 3,000 leva per square meter. It has also now become clear that the government of Borisov and Peevski has given 800 million euros to fill potholes on the roads. “But not to fill more potholes, but the same potholes at a 50% higher price.

Do you want to be paid 50% more for the same job? But no one will give it to you, unless it is those corrupt ones there“, explained the leader of the PP.
According to him, in order to stop the increase in the price of all goods and services, the ceiling on the price of electricity must be restored for all businesses, as it was in 2022, 2023 and 2024. And he recalled that last year in October, the Zhelyazkov government removed the ceiling.

„It has become fashionable to fight corruption. However, corruption is not fought with general talk. Corruption is not fought with contracts like BOTAS. Every Bulgarian family pays €50 for BOTAS from its electricity and heating bill and will continue to pay it for the next 10 years“, Vassilev also said. He was categorical that corruption is fought with specific measures, which one by one must have 121 people to vote for them in parliament.

„What we see is a lot of promises and little action. We have clearly stated what exactly we intend to do. For example, we need 121 people to press the button so that people receive an SMS when the cashier pays something for them. „This we put it in parliament five times. Four times there were not 121 votes to press the "yes" button, said Vassilev.

He also gave an example with the security of Borisov and Peevski. "We proposed that he should leave so that two kindergartens could be built with this money. But first the ITN were "for", then suddenly, an hour later, they went "against". The BSP voted 12 votes, half "against" and "abstain". If these 12 votes had voted "for", it would have passed. And now we would have two kindergartens, not Boyko and Peevski walking around with the NSOs and security guards", the PP leader was indignant.

He recalled about Burgas how many years there was talk of a children's hospital. “When I became Minister of Finance, we talked to the mayor, we first set aside 5 million for design. Then in the two budgets - 2023 and 2024 - the money was set aside for construction and finally you have a children's hospital. Now it is important that this children's hospital is not stolen and works for the people of Burgas, and not for private interests“, was categorical Assen Vassilev.

“The truth is very simple. When you work meaningfully for the citizens, there is money. When someone starts wondering how to steal the money, suddenly they say: “There is no money for anything.“ And I think that the people of Burgas also see this every day“, Vassilev addressed the citizens of Burgas.
