A powerful cyclone over Northwestern Bulgaria is shaping the dynamic weather in the country today, with rainfall already starting in some areas. After icy hail fell in Krumovgrad, meteorologists are warning of worsening conditions and intense thunderstorms expected to hit Ruse and the region.
According to the Meteo Balkans forecast, the peak of storm activity will be between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM today. Intense rainfall is expected, accompanied by strong thunderstorms and an increased risk of hail. Experts advise citizens to be careful, secure their cars and avoid staying outdoors during the most intense events.
Although the cyclone covers a large part of the country, among the most affected will be the regions of Ruse, Razgrad, Shumen, Veliko Tarnovo and Targovishte. Heavy rainfall will also fall in Yambol, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Dobrich, Sliven, Silistra and Pleven. In these areas, there are serious prerequisites for local torrential rains and a sharp deterioration in road visibility.
