There is no visible effect from the increase in fuel prices at the moment. If it comes to such an effect, it will be after accumulation and further. But to date there is no risk of a significant increase in prices. This was said by the executive director of the Association for Modern Trade Nikolay Valkanov on the air of “Wake up”.

He pointed out that there is enough food on the market at the moment, because the previous harvest was rich. The question is what the new harvest will be, the expert added.

He emphasized that with the measures proposed by the “Gyurov” cabinet, Bulgaria will be able to cope with the crisis caused by the conflict in the Middle East. He described these measures as reasonable, targeted and measured and will do the necessary work.

Vulkanov said that Bulgarian production should be stimulated, but it is also necessary to ensure unhindered imports.

"Every trader strives to have a package of goods that are more attractive on the market compared to its competitors in order to attract more consumers. This cannot be influenced by the movement of fuel prices," he added.

Regarding fertilizer prices, Valkanov said that there is something to be done, but this is the job of the European Union.
