The president discussed possible mechanisms for preventing price increases due to the crisis last week with the management of the Commission for Protection of Competition, which also informed her about the analyses of the antimonopoly body on the food and drug market.

Today, the meetings of the head of state continue with the management of the Revenue Agency and the Consumer Protection Commission. Representatives of the two institutions will brief Iliyana Yotova on the results of the monitoring and control of the introduction of the euro and will discuss with her measures to overcome the economic consequences of the conflict in the Middle East.

On Friday, the caretaker government announced a package of measures worth 100 million euros in response to the crisis. Some of them are aimed at supporting the agriculture, transport and energy sectors. A headquarters in the Council of Ministers will monitor non-market behavior along the supply chain, together with the private sector and consumer organizations.
