The visit of the prime minister and some of the ministers to Ukraine does not look like an effort for peace, but like a demonstration with a domestic political purpose. It will not contribute to a lasting and just peace in Ukraine, but will cause reactions of division in pre-election Bulgaria. This is stated in the position of the BSP Executive Bureau on the government visit to Ukraine. Here is more from the left's position:
We recall that the main function of the caretaker government is to organize fair elections and guarantee stability in the country, not to make geopolitical demonstrations.
We strongly oppose the actions of the caretaker cabinet and call on the prime minister and ministers to make efforts to deal with prices and inflation, and not with inappropriate foreign policy demonstrations.
Bulgaria needs a different type of foreign policy - one that upholds peace through diplomacy. The BSP insists that foreign policy be conducted with clear national responsibility - for de-escalation, dialogue and sustainable peace.
