Angel Georgiev from "Vazrazhdane" and Nikolay Tsonkov from "BSP-OL" clashed positions

The topic is foreign policy and national security. Both are leaders of our lists

Angel Georgiev from „Vazrazhdane“ and Nikolay Tsonkov from „BSP-United Left“ faced each other in a pre-election debate in „Face to Face“. The topic is foreign policy and national security. Both are leaders of our lists.

First, the visit of Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov and five ministers from his cabinet to Ukraine was discussed.

„Nothing new under the sun, we have seen it many times. We see that they like Ukraine more than Bulgaria. They give generously for Ukraine, provide weapons and such capabilities that we no longer have. You see, Greece has to guard the sky over Bulgaria, because everything was given to Ukraine“, said Angel Georgiev and added that we should not deal with the problems of Kiev, but with the Bessarabian Bulgarians.

Asked which country is the aggressor, Georgiev pointed out: “Putin is defending his interests. Whatever knocks, comes. After the Ukrainians repressed the Russians inside Ukraine, massacred their own population, treated them as an aggressor, what do you expect from Putin?“.

And regarding North Macedonia, he said: “We call for a voluntary Second Bulgarian Unification of the two states.

“Let's be realistic, we insist that the Bulgarians be recognized in the Constitution of North Macedonia. We oppose the actions taken by the caretaker government in Ukraine. It must do its domestic political work – organize the elections and deal with inflation“, said Nikolay Tsonkov from BSP-OL.

Georgiev stated that the socialists are repeating their theses about a bridge between East and West. Tsonkov replied that “Vazrazhdane“ are adopting positions of the left and developing them.

“BSP did nothing for the Bulgarian lev, until recently they were in power. They did not support us for a referendum. Krum Zarkov left President Rumen Radev's team precisely because of issues of principle. They were “for“ the euro. They had a decision at the highest level not to enter a coalition with GERB and they did it“, pointed out Georgiev.

“We do not know what the “Vazrazhdane“ party is proposing to build a new model, we only hear how we will destroy“, Tsonkov pointed out.
