The Minister of Interior Emil Dechev, Deputy Minister Kaloyan Kaloyanov and the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Georgi Kandev held a working meeting with the management of the ODMVR - Stara Zagora

During the meeting, Minister Dechev emphasized that the main priority of the Ministry is the preparation and holding of fair, democratic, and lawful elections. He emphasized the need for equal and impartial application of the law to all perpetrators of violations and crimes, without allowing double standards, as well as the need for quick and decisive action by police officers.

As a key element in the work of the Ministry of Interior structures, the improvement of the quality of pre-trial proceedings, as well as the effectiveness of investigations, was also highlighted.

Emphasis was also placed on the work with signals received from representatives of non-governmental organizations, civil activists and investigative journalists. Minister Dechev emphasized that they are an important partner of the institutions, as they often have valuable information that can help solve crimes.

Deputy Minister Kaloyan Kaloyanov said that the difference between the recent elections and the current ones is that police officers have complete freedom to work according to the law and also called for proactivity.

The Director of the Department of Internal Affairs-Stara Zagora, Senior Commissioner Georgi Georgiev, said that 26 warning protocols have been drawn up, 3 people have been detained and two pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under Articles 167-169 of the Criminal Code.

Chief Commissioner Kandev said: “Our service is very difficult, society does not always see all the efforts that are made, but it places great hopes on us and we are obliged to justify them.“ He also called for working courageously and according to the law.
