In the midst of the election campaign, Stanislav Balabanov, leader of the lists of “Ima takve narod“ in Plovdiv-city and Haskovo, commented on “This Morning“ on bTV topics related to national security, diplomatic communication and the domestic political situation.

“First, what all of Bulgaria understood thanks to “Ima takve narod“ yesterday is shocking for Bulgarian society. This shows a lack of communication between the executive branch, parliament and our society, which is scandalous. This diplomatic note contains a rather serious warning in a difficult geopolitical situation.“

Balabanov emphasizes that in his opinion the content of the note is alarming: “Iran in this note intelligently suggests that it can use Article 51 of the UN and consider how to defend its sovereignty.“ He makes serious accusations against the official government: “This official government has practically committed a crime against Bulgarian society – two weeks of not informing the public about this note.“
Regarding the meeting with Yotova, he stated that they had gone uninvited, but “we went because we were frustrated by the behavior of the official cabinet. We sought a conversation with one of the independent institutions – the presidential one. I got the impression that she has serious reservations about the work of this cabinet.“

The main emphasis in his statement is the lack of information: „The scandalous thing is that this note was concealed for two weeks. Why weren't we, the members of parliament, informed? If the information is sensitive – there is a secret registry. Bulgaria is a parliamentary republic.“

„As a journalist, you know the practice – sources are not revealed. Besides, we are a parliamentary party and many people provide us with information.“

Balabanov also makes a strong warning: „A ballistic missile from Iran reaches Bulgaria in 9 minutes. Where is the reaction of the authorities? We called the authorities for a hearing several times – they didn't come. This is scandalous. Our position is that the president can demand the resignation of this cabinet.“

When asked why they entered parliament with the idea of changing the model, and then governed with it, Balabanov replied: “In the interest of society – there had to be a government. The state was in chaos.“

For him, Peevski was not part of the executive branch.

According to Balabanov, there were mistakes in the government, but because “There are such people“ Bulgaria has entered the eurozone and Schengen.

The polls do not put them in the next parliament, but Balabanov said that he trusts Bulgarian citizens, not polls.

The politician defended the restriction of sections outside the EU: “The goal was to prevent distortion of the result of the vote in Turkey.“
