Alexander Stamboliyski Dam Overflows

The „Alexander Stamboliyski“ Dam reached its critical level at 10:00 PM on April 2 after heavy rainfall, the Veliko Tarnovo Regional Government announced this morning.

The dam is currently overflowing at 7 cubic meters per second.

„The reservoir is under observation. There is no damage or danger to people and agricultural lands“, assured Valentin Mihaylov, Veliko Tarnovo Regional Governor, who is in constant contact with all responsible institutions monitoring the situation.

The level of the „Yovkovtsi“ Dam has also risen and reached 83.18% of the useful volume.

The Yantra River has reached a level of 3.54 m, but is expected to fall, as the Belitsa River, which flows into it, drops by 40 cm.
