A temporary traffic organization is being introduced in the capital’s Hadji Dimitar district due to construction works, the Sofia Municipality announced. In the period from April 6 to 9 inclusive, the passage of cars on Vasil Petleshkov Street will be restricted in the section between Philip Totyu Street and Panayot Hitov Street. The reason is the construction of a building sewage diversion, News.bg reports.

Changes are also occurring in public transport. Trolleybus lines No. 2 and No. 4 will operate on a modified route only in the direction of the Buxton residential district and the “Druzhba-2“. They will pass along “Gen. Liprandi“, “Makgahan“ and “Panayot Hitov“ Str., and then continue along their usual routes. In the opposite direction, the routes remain unchanged. In the affected section, the trolleybuses will run on a diesel engine. A temporary stop “Bl. 119 zh.k. Hadzhi Dimitar“ is also being opened on “Makgahan“ Str., while the stop “Ul. Panayot Hitov“ is being closed for both lines.

In parallel, the Sofia Municipality is accelerating the repair work on “Tsarigradsko Shose“ Blvd. and “Samokovsko Shose“ in connection with the preparation for the prestigious cycling race Giro d’Italia. From April 6, works on the restoration of the pavement will begin, including the repair of local irregularities and adjustments around storm drains.

The repairs will be carried out in stages, without complete closure of the road sections, but with temporary narrowing of the lanes. On Blvd. „Samokovsko Shose“ work will be carried out in both lanes, and on Blvd. „Tsarigradsko Shose“ - mainly in the bus lane.

Temporary traffic difficulties are expected, and drivers are urged to drive with increased caution and, if possible, to use alternative routes. The repair works are planned to be completed by the end of April.
