KITUB will send today the package of measures due to rising prices to Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the parliamentary parties, BNT reported.

The trade union has already announced an emergency package of measures to support households and businesses due to economic uncertainty. Among the main ideas are the introduction of free public transport for vulnerable groups, fuel compensation for citizens and businesses, as well as a ceiling on price increases for fuels and food from the small consumer basket.

The union also proposes direct financial assistance for people with low incomes, deferral of electricity and heating bills, as well as a ban on suspending services for vulnerable households. In the energy sector, they propose to maintain the price of electricity for households and implement measures to protect the energy poor.

The proposed package also includes compensation for agricultural producers and an increase in food vouchers. The Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions insists that the proposals be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation.
