Over 600 tons of undocumented food, transported in violation of food safety requirements, were seized from a passenger car with Bulgarian registration in Svilengrad. The report was filed by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, trud.bg specified.
During the inspection, inspectors from the Regional Directorate of Food Safety in Haskovo found about 550 kg of frozen chicken fillet, 150 eggs and 9 kg of yellow cheese without identification markings, documents of origin and labels in Bulgarian.
The driver will be charged with a crime, and the food will be sent for destruction.
