The Danube Bridge near Ruse will be fully open to traffic in both directions from around 6:00 p.m. today. The repairs in the 320-meter section in the lane towards Bulgaria are being completed on schedule. This was announced by the “Road Infrastructure“ Agency.
Thus, during the upcoming Easter holidays, the passage over the facility will be carried out without restrictions, which will significantly facilitate traffic and ensure a safer and more comfortable journey for all drivers.
The road agency specifies that after Easter, the repairs will continue in their next stage. From 8:00 a.m. on April 14, construction and installation activities will be resumed on the last 320 meters of the bridge, this time in the lane in the direction of Romania.
The repair will be completed in June 2026. The main reconstruction of the Bulgarian section of the bridge began on July 10, 2024 and is being carried out in stages, without completely stopping traffic.
