The search for 29-year-old Dimitar from Devnya continues

The young man suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and has been missing since Thursday evening

While the country celebrates Easter, a family from Devnya spends the holiday in anxiety and anticipation. The search for 29-year-old Dimitar Dimitrov, who disappeared from his home on Thursday evening, continues for the third day. The young man suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, which makes the situation even more critical.

Dimitar was last seen around 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM on Thursday. His father, Enyo, told the NOVA program "Wake Up" that his son simply left the house without saying anything. "I went looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found. To date, there is no news, nothing,” the father shared. According to him, it is unlikely that Dimitar managed to reach Varna on his own or get on a bus, since his condition does not allow such independence.

The police have already been involved in the search, but the relatives are also relying heavily on volunteers. Stilyan Stoychev, who coordinates the teams on the ground, explained that almost all places in Devnya have already been checked, but to no avail. “Now we are going to search the forest, because we have doubts that he could be hiding there,” he explained.

The organizers have made an urgent appeal for additional help. “We need drones, equipment, jeeps. We know that today is Easter, but this is a human life that needs to be saved,” Stoychev emphasized.
