At the moment, any forecasts are impossible, but the expectations are that the trend of increasing food prices will continue. This was stated by Bogomil Nikolov from the "Active Consumers" Association to BNT, quoted by news.bg.
Nikolov explained that due to the latest current fuel crisis, it is impossible not to be transmitted along the chain of other goods. Another issue is that at least at the moment the price increase is not the same for different goods and services, but the price increase is more pronounced for food, he pointed out.
According to him, the markets have the most difficulty in circumventing the laws of the market. The point is that where there is competition in the market, there should be no concerns. Dangers of this type are related to the monopoly position or cartel in the market, warned Bogomil Nikolov.
And he specified that it cannot be expected that there will be inspectors next to every stall, and citizens should be the inspectors, to influence the market and to influence by submitting signals.
Bogomil Nikolov also commented on the measures of the caretaker government, stating that only those most in need of expensive fuels should be supported. "The big risk is when helicopter money is distributed, is not to raise the price of the ticket and not to raise taxes, because where will the money come from when we, the taxpayers, are giving it", added Nikolov.
