30 new cases of measles have been registered in the country for the period 6-12 April.

This is according to data from the National Center for Communicable and Parasitic Diseases. Since the beginning of the year, 104 cases of measles have been reported in the country.

In our country, measles immunization is mandatory and is administered after reaching the age of 13 months and in the year of reaching the age of 12. If they are children aged 13 months to 11-12 years, they must have one dose of measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. If they are children born before 2015, they must have two doses.

The disease is highly contagious and is transmitted through close contact with a sick person, the Ministry of Health (MoH) reminds on its website. The main symptoms of measles are fever, runny nose, cough, tearing, eye inflammation, rash. In case of close contact with a confirmed case of measles, seek medical help, as it is possible to get vaccinated within 72 hours of contact, if necessary, advises the online platform "Plus Men", created by the MoH to promote vaccines and their benefits.
