Doctors at the "Medica" University Hospital in Ruse are fighting for the life of 48-year-old Stefka Koleva, who is the victim of an attempted murder. The case is from the Silistra village of Sitovo, Nova TV reported.
According to police information, on April 12, the man with whom she lived as a family, doused her with alcohol and set her on fire, after which he took his own life. Now the woman's relatives are trying to secure blood donors, as her condition is critical.
The woman's relatives say that she was a victim of systematic harassment for months. Stefka's sister describes the moment the victim called her after the attack.
„She told me: „Come quickly, I'm burning, I'm burned“. I asked her where she was, she said - in the dormitory“, the woman says. She immediately notified her nephew, who was the first to arrive at the scene.
According to her, when they entered the room, the woman had severe burns all over her body from the waist up. Despite her condition, she managed to say that she had been doused with flammable liquid and set on fire.
The relatives claim that the violence was not accidental, but lasted about 6 months. According to Stefka's daughter, the man constantly harassed her and did not leave her alone, including through constant calls.
The family states that they tried to separate her from him, but without success, as he continued to pursue and harass her.
After initial treatment at the hospital in Silistra, the victim was transported to “Medica“ in Ruse, where she was admitted to a burn unit. Doctors report that her condition remains serious and critical, requiring multiple surgeries and significant amounts of blood.
The relatives have already made an urgent appeal for blood donations. According to them, at least two donors are needed in just one day, and more surgeries with significant blood loss are ahead.
The woman has blood type zero positive, but according to doctors, blood from different groups can be donated in emergencies. Blood donation can be done in Ruse, Razgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech and Pleven.
Anyone who wishes can donate blood at the transfusion hematology department in Ruse, indicating that it is for the patient Stefka Temenuzhkova Koleva, who is in intensive care.
