Kamelia Neykova: There are no signals for sections that will not open on Sunday

The Electoral Code provides that if SIC members do not show up on election day, new members are appointed from the proposed reserve composition. I do not believe that there will be sectional election commissions that will not work. CEC Chairperson Kamelia Neykova on the air of “Wake up” on Nova TV.

There are no signals that there will be sections that will not open, Neykova was categorical.

Regarding the signal from Shumen about defective paper ballots, printing errors, inconsistency of the ballot and a cut, the CEC chairman stated that a completely new edition has been printed for the Shumen electoral district and it will arrive on Saturday at the regional administration. The defective ballots will be returned to the BNB printing house, representatives of the Ministry of Finance will be present, and the activity will take place on the territory of Shumen, the expert explained. Neykova also said that an inspection was carried out in other electoral districts. There were also such inconsistencies in Dobrich and new ballots will be provided according to the same procedure. Neykova said that the cause of these problems is yet to be established.

The CEC chairman emphasized that if there is a ballot with a factory defect – smudging, if it is filled in correctly, the vote is considered valid.

At this stage, there are no reports of damaged voting machines on the way, Neykova said. “Last night at 10:00 p.m. all machines for the country – 9354, were installed. They are already being transported”, she explained. She

There is no information about problems abroad, the CEC chairman said.

Neykova reminded that reports are submitted to the Regional Election Commission or the relevant Section Election Commission.
