The Ministry of Interior summarized the data from the fight against election crimes minutes after the end of the election day of the early parliamentary vote. This happened at a briefing after the CEC announced the end of the election day for the early parliamentary elections at 9 p.m. On them, Bulgarian citizens voted for the composition of the 52nd National Assembly.
The Acting Minister of Interior Emil Dechev announced that there were 2,974 signals in total for violations of the election process, nova.bg reported.
There are also signals without a specific political force. "A total of 72 prosecutorial files have been created for election crimes of persons with immunity - they are in the General Directorate of Elections. 2,974 total signals for violations of the election process throughout the campaign, which is 204% more compared to 2024 - 3 times more. 614 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated, which is five times more than in the previous vote. The number of detainees is 425, in 2024 there were 72. 6728 warning protocols have been issued only in connection with election crimes, "said the Minister of the Interior and defined the data as a sign of greatly increased trust in the new leadership of the Ministry of Interior.
Emil Dechev revealed that 631 signals for election crimes were filed in favor of the MRF, 318 signals in favor of GERB, 18 signals for "Vazrazhdane", 16 signals for "Progressive Bulgaria", 13 signals in favor of the BSP, 11 for PP-DB, 7 for "Velicie", 4 in favor of ITN and 2 for election crimes in favor of MECH.
According to him, the special operations in the country were 270, compared to 229 in October 2024. Dechev also highlighted several cases that he described as important:
► Pre-trial proceedings for vote buying by the mayor of Lom, there is an audio recording, 11 people were questioned before a judge
► Almost 200,000 euros were seized in Varna, 4 people were detained, one of them a municipal councilor
► Three people were detained in Smolyan with 40,000 euros and lists of citizens' personal data
► In Veliko Tarnovo, a candidate for deputy was stopped by the Traffic Police and during a search, money and lists and personal data were found. A person with multiple convictions was driving with him
► In the village of Septemvriytsi, a member of the Electoral Commission tried to vote 10 times with paper ballots instead of citizens
► In the village of Velikdenche, the mayor's daughter and her friend also voted instead of citizens
► In the village of Banya, the Electoral Commission opened the ballot box before the end of election day - about 40 minutes early
