Suspect detained in the case of the dismembered body in a container in Plovdiv

The remaining body parts were found in the apartment of the suspect in the brutal crime and the victim's identity is now to be established

A 50-year-old man has been detained as a suspect in committing a murder in the Plovdiv district of "Trakia". He admitted to the police that he had dismembered the body, whose remains were found in a container between blocks 27 and 28. The police commented to Plovdiv24.bg that the perpetrator had been identified, but details would be announced at a later stage.

Shortly after 8 a.m., a bus with the inscription "Forensic Laboratory" arrived in front of a block of flats near the place where the remains were found. The remaining body parts were found in the apartment of the suspect in the brutal crime and the victim's identity is now to be established. The motive for the murder is unknown at this time.

We recall that on April 8 this year, a vagrant found human body parts in black plastic bags in a household waste container in the "Trakia" area between blocks 27 and 28. The man told the sellers in a nearby store about the sinister find. Minutes later, the entire "Georgi Danchov" street, which leads to "Lauta" park, was blocked off for pedestrians and cars.

The director, Senior Commissioner Vasil Kostadinov, and the head of the Fifth Police Department, Chief Inspector Nikolay Kirkov, as well as Deputy District Prosecutor Chavdar Groshev were at the scene. Later, the police officially announced that a serious criminal offense was being investigated.
