Over 2 tons of unregistered plant protection products were found by inspectors from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) in Sliven in the Kotel village of Yablanovo, the agency announced.
The total of 2016 kg/l of fungicides, insecticides and herbicides found are labeled only in Turkish and without a permit for sale in Bulgaria.
The preparations were found in a residential property in the village, as well as in a car parked in the yard.
The place is not registered as a warehouse, which contradicts the requirements for the conditions and procedure for production, placing on the market, trade, transportation and storage of plant protection products, BFSA specifies.
The entire quantity was seized and is being stored by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Sliven. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
