A crash between two trams occurred on "Konstantin Velichkov" Boulevard in Sofia, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported to BTA. The incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. yesterday, and police teams were immediately sent to the scene.
As a result of the impact, there is one slightly injured passenger who was riding in one of the trains. So far, there has been no information about other injured citizens in need of emergency medical care. Law enforcement agencies have secured the area of the accident.
The drivers of the vehicles were checked on site by the "Traffic Police" officers. "The Whatmans were tested for alcohol use, their results were negative", the police informed.
Despite the incident with the heavy machinery, traffic in the area is not blocked and is proceeding normally, without causing traffic jams on the busy boulevard. Work continues to clarify the exact causes of the collision.
