Kolyo Kolev: People wanted to punish the previous ones and the only visible "stick" was Radev

"In terms of votes, one deputy seat "is worth" a little over 11 thousand votes. Let's hope that there are not so many bought votes, the elections this time looked decent. Everyone was in a hurry to admit the result. We know how elections are held, as long as we lied to each other on a small scale", commented Prof. Mihail Konstantinov

131 mandates, this is the second best result in the new democratic history of Bulgaria. The winners should be congratulated, it remains to be seen what they will do, declared mathematician Prof. Mihail Konstantinov to Bulgaria ON AIR after the historic election victory of "Progressive Bulgaria".

Why did Rumen Radev win so convincingly

"People wanted to punish the previous ones and the only visible "stick" was Radev. At the exit poll itself, people didn't lie so much as convince themselves that they voted for something else. It's not convenient for them, out of shame. They voted for Radev out of rage, let the others be gone," he analyzed.
"Expectations are minimalist. People are simply fed up. Many things created the perfect storm: the arrogance with which the euro referendum was rejected; a budget was presented in which the National Assembly does not follow its own procedures; inflation; the crises in Ukraine and the Middle East; the energy crisis; military planes at a civilian airport. All this creates rage", said sociologist Kolyo Kolev in turn on the program "Denyat ON AIR".

According to him, Radev cannot deal with all the problems, the point is to minimize the damage.

"300 km away we have a war that shows no signs of abating, on the contrary. 700 km in the other direction is another war that is clogging the energy channels. There could be 200-300 dollars per barrel, which is deadly. Europe is shaking from everywhere. They rushed to rejoice that Orban is gone, but there will be more and more Orbanists", Kolev pointed out.
The elections and the first moves of the new government
"In terms of votes, one parliamentary seat "is worth" a little over 11 thousand votes. Let's hope that there are not so many bought votes, the elections looked decent this time. Everyone was in a hurry to admit the result. We know how elections are held, as long as we have been lied to on a small scale", commented Prof. Konstantinov.

He pointed out that now all bodies with expired mandates must be replaced and quick measures must be taken against the "sharply deteriorating situation of the people".

Kolev believes that Radev will make a race according to the statute: "He is a person who follows not only the letter, but also the comma of the law".

Borislav Sarafov's resignation
"The time has come for this resignation. The situation itself was due to shoddy legislation. I do not think that the Prosecutor's College has violated the law. I don't know Ms. Stefanova, but I've heard good reviews from both of them", said Prof. Konstantinov on the occasion of Sarafov's replacement with Vanya Stefanova as acting prosecutor general.
"The supposedly independent judiciary suddenly turned out to be directly dependent on the political authorities. Let's hope that this is the beginning of a healing process. Replacing the Supreme Judicial Council, the Inspectorate - things that should have been done a long time ago", commented Kolev.
