The "Siyana" case will be heard in the Pleven District Court. The court is expected to hear the conclusion on the assigned complex auto-technical and forensic medical expertise.
At the end of February, the District Court remanded in custody the accused Georgi Aleksandrov, who caused the serious accident on March 31, 2025, on the Byala-Botevgrad road in the Telish region.
The 12-year-old child died in the accident. According to the case, Aleksandrov was driving a truck-trailer combination with a tractor and a semi-trailer attached at a speed of about 83 km/h, with a speed limit of 70 km/h for this section of road.
The conditions were rain, wet asphalt, a bend, and uneven road surface, which caused the truck to lose its lateral stability and the semi-trailer attached to it to enter the oncoming lane, where it continued to travel.
At the same time, in this oncoming lane, a passenger car was traveling, in which the passengers were 12-year-old Siyana (in the back left seat) and her grandmother (in the back right seat), and the injured person, the girl's grandfather, was driving.
The driver of the car made an emergency stop to avoid hitting the trailer, but nevertheless, a head-on collision occurred for the passenger car. As a result of the impact, Siyana died and the driver of the car, her grandfather, suffered bodily injuries.
The defendant has multiple violations under the Traffic Law, having been punished several times for transport crimes, with deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle. Currently, he is under a preventive measure of "detention in custody".
A hearing of the conclusion on the assigned complex auto-technical and forensic medical expertise is scheduled.
