Stara Zagora, called by the locals “The Center of the Universe“, today also becomes the center of one of the most beloved Bulgarian delicacies – pig ears. The city hosts a traditional festival dedicated not only to culinary art, but also to local traditions.

The event brings together craftsmen from all over the country, who present their recipes and compete for recognition. The organizers emphasize that the festival is not just a competition, but a celebration of taste and craftsmanship.

“Our ears are the best because we put all our energy – "We boil them ourselves, cut them and season them with a pinch of salt, then bake them so that they become both crispy and tender," says one of the participants, quoted by Nova TV.

Last year, the festival attracted about 10,000 visitors, and the amount of delicacy eaten reached nearly 2.5 tons. The expectations are that this year the interest will be just as great.

The culmination of the event is the awarding of the best craftsmen, who will receive awards in the categories of "very skilled", "good skilled" and "excellent skilled".
