A large majority is good news and a great challenge. This is what lawyer Ekaterina Mihaylova commented to bTV about the results of the vote.
In her words, everyone has seen the results of unstable governments. According to her, it is a challenge to work with so many deputies, to maintain unity and to make them a team. The actions of the prime minister and the speaker of parliament are important in order to synchronize the common policy.
Policy-making is required, Mihaylova emphasized and warned that demoralization easily occurs in a majority.
For her, it is important to re-select the judiciary. Right from the start, the National Assembly should adopt a decision on a moratorium on the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) making personnel decisions, she suggests.
The new parliament should immediately adopt rules for electing a new SJC and Inspectorate, the constitutionalist also suggests.
In her words, the judicial system has become filled with relatives. For something to happen, political will from the ruling majority is needed, she says.
