Beginning of a key political week. The list of names of the new MPs is expected to be published in the State Gazette, Nova Television reports. After that, the deadlines set out in the Constitution will be triggered.
The president must issue a decree convening the new National Assembly. The first session is scheduled for Thursday. Immediately after the oath, the parliament elects its chairman and deputy chairmen. After the parliamentary groups are constituted, the president holds consultations with them.
Then the procedure for handing over exploratory mandates for forming a government begins. The head of state hands over the mandate to a candidate for prime minister, nominated by the largest parliamentary group - “Progressive Bulgaria“.
