Bulgarians, watching seven consecutive fruitless elections, unable to create a sustainable and meaningful government, invested all their trust in Rumen Radev. This is what Sergey Stanishev said in an interview for the show "From the Day" on BNT.

"In fact, they punished everyone who participated in politics in the last 5 years. They punished those who did not answer the main question that was the reason for the 2020 protests - to change the model and bring about political change. This is the secret of the success of "Progressive Bulgaria", he revealed the formula for the success of the former president of Bulgaria.

"People will forgive many mistakes and weaknesses of this administration as long as it implements what it said - "to sweep away the oligarchy", Stanishev predicted, defining this as the only clear message in Radev's campaign.

"All the others were much more nebulous, unclear and addressed at different times to different voters," the politician added.

"The behavior of "Progressive Bulgaria" reminds me a little of a phrase that is often attributed to Tito. And it is: "We give the left turn signal and turn right", he expressed his opinion.

"In the speech, there were gestures to a large extent towards the BSP voters, showing that this is almost the new left. "Progressive Bulgaria", however, is clearly not that and to understand it, it is enough to read their program," Stanishev said.

"The BSP cannot be angry with Rumen Radev for its own sins and mistakes. Quite a few of the people who are now with him were literally pushed and thrown out by the BSP during the period of Kornelia Ninova," he also commented.

According to him, the BSP remaining outside the parliament also provides certain advantages.
