Let's see the composition of the Council of Ministers, because all eyes are focused on that. We are in an unprecedented situation - after years of political instability, frequent elections and changes of governments, for the first time in more than a quarter of a century, we see a formation with an absolute majority. This increases expectations for this formation. But these excessive expectations can also lead to political disappointment, so it is very important what the first steps will be that the majority will take and, above all, whether they will be able to build a team and broader expertise in the new cabinet. This was stated by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov in the program “More from the Day” on BNT, quoted by novini.bg

When asked how Radev managed to bring together pro-Europeans and Eurosceptics, the political scientist said that this happens rarely, but is seen in similar types of waves. According to him, in the end, some of these voters will be disappointed by certain political actions, because it is always easy during the campaign to avoid uncomfortable questions or to follow such a type of strategy that would cover the electoral circle as much as possible.

„Political decisions and difficult tasks lie ahead, we are facing numerous crises – internal and external, and everything is in the hands of this new majority”, he explained.

What we see as positions from Rumen Radev's formation is that they will position themselves centrist, believes Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov.

„They avoid ideological positioning. When asked which European party they would join, they refuse to answer. There are some contradictions. Rumen Radev stated that one of the main problems in Bulgaria is the great inequalities, and on the other hand, the tax policy will not change - this is an internal contradiction that must be answered. Moreover, the IMF recommends that we move to progressive income taxation. There must be a system of measures and a plan within the four years, which they will try to implement. This will have to be communicated to the citizens early on to avoid serious internal turbulence.

According to him, one of the first tests for the new formation will be geopolitics. Such a decision at the beginning of the work of the National Assembly would lead to unnecessary polarization, which could confront the government with complex decisions.
