Former Minister of the Interior and current MP from "We Continue the Change" Boyko Rashkov announced Ivan Demerdzhiev as a suitable candidate for the head of the law and order department, reports the Bulgarian National Radio. The statement comes against the backdrop of the ongoing processes surrounding the structuring of the future executive branch in our country.

According to Boyko Rashkov, Demerdzhiev's previous administrative experience is a serious advantage that would help him effectively manage the security system.

"I believe that the law and order ministry will be in good hands, because he is a competent, energetic, active colleague. I think he will cope with the tasks. In addition, it is not unimportant that Mr. Demerdzhiev already has experience in the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and some experience as a deputy minister and minister of justice," commented Boyko Rashkov.

At the same time, representatives of other political forces in parliament remain neutral regarding specific personal nominations. GERB-SDF MP Daniel Mitov distanced himself from the possibility of giving assessments of potential candidates for ministerial positions.

"I cannot say who will be the minister of anything, it depends on the ruling majority. Only the ruling party can judge who is suitable and who is not", noted Daniel Mitov.
