Gergana Aleksova - Velikova: BSP will not give up the fight for workers' rights

"We are gathering on May Day, Labor Day at Lake Ariana in Borisova Garden at 11.30 am. We invite everyone who feels left-wing or wronged on their working day, and who wants to share the holiday of the left press. There will be interesting activities, including for the youngest. Although many people feel this day as a non-working day, it should above all tell us about the sacrifice of many people in the fight for an eight-hour working day.".

This was said by Gergana Aleksova-Velikova, chairwoman of the BSP All-Party Control Commission on Eurocom.

"It is important for us that trade unionists and every working person who wants to be there. The important thing is to share this May Day, which marks our fight for all our labor rights.", emphasized Gergana Aleksova - Velikova.

She shared that the fight for eight hours of work, eight hours of sleep and eight hours of free time was not easy and should not be taken for granted. The socialist added that other causes for which the left is fighting are equal pay for women and men, safe and healthy working conditions.

"There is something to be done for working people and the Bulgarian Socialist Party will not give up not only on May Day, but also on its fight for workers' rights and for justice.".

Velikova stated that the BSP has a plan for what needs to be done in order to return to a more active life and to people on the ground, to actions, not words, but also on a voluntary basis. She also shared that each member of the leadership will tour the districts and meet with the party organizations in the cities and villages to assist them and for people to see that they are by no means forgotten.

"We are committed to working for the BSP and I am sure that in the future it will return to the parliamentary stage.", Gergana Aleksova - Velikova expressed confidence.
