A violent domestic scandal escalated into an attack with a cold weapon and a pedestrian being hit yesterday afternoon in Razgrad, the Razgrad Regional Directorate of Internal Affairs and Communications reported. The action at the intersection between "Lyuben Karavelov" and "Berni Burnev" streets ended with one person hospitalized and one taken into police custody.

The report of the fight was filed shortly before 6:00 p.m. on April 30 by a 24-year-old resident of the city. The conflict arose between his 31-year-old brother and a 45-year-old man, the reason being the removal of a vending machine and the installation of an advertising billboard.

The older man deliberately knocked the machine to the ground, then took out a machete and began to attack the two brothers' cars - an – "Opel Corsa" and a "Mitsubishi Karizma". In response to the aggression, the 31-year-old owner of one of the cars drove off and ran over the attacker. The injured person was transported to the Razgrad Hospital with a broken leg, but his life was not in danger. The driver was detained, and pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case.

He was traveling in a "Seat Ibiza" car, driven by a 20-year-old man from Kubrat. The car was stopped for inspection near the town hall in the Kubrat village of Seslav. There were a total of four 18-year-old passengers inside, and one of them was found to have a dry herb mass that tested positive for cannabis.

Pre-trial proceedings have also been initiated for a traffic accident that occurred early in the morning of April 30 near the intersection of the main road E-70 and the road to Samuil. A "Opel Vectra" car, driven at an inappropriate speed by a 52-year-old man from the village of Vladimirovtsi, hit a 61-year-old pedestrian. The victim was taken to the Razgrad hospital with head wounds and a concussion. The driver's tests for alcohol and drugs were negative.
