Georgi Peev has introduced temporary restrictions on payments and the assumption of new obligations in public enterprises under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The measure is part of an ongoing analysis of the financial, administrative and contractual status of companies in the ministry's system.
The order temporarily suspends expenses that are not directly related to the current and uninterrupted functioning of the enterprises. The conclusion of new contracts, the signing of annexes, the assignment of activities, advance payments and the launch of public procurements are also suspended, except in cases of proven regulatory urgency.
The ministry also specifies that companies will not be able to take actions to acquire or dispose of assets until the inspection is completed.
The restrictions will not affect the payment of wages, taxes, social security contributions, payments to the budget and utilities. According to the Ministry of Transport, the goal is to make a comprehensive assessment of the state of state-owned enterprises and to ensure stricter control over their expenses and liabilities.
