Bulgaria is set to receive 2 billion euros more in cohesion funds compared to the previous period of the European Union's multiannual financial framework. This was announced by EPP/GERB MEP Andrey Novakov - European Parliament rapporteur on the reformed cohesion policy.

For the first time, security and defense are becoming a goal of the new European Union cohesion policy, and Bulgaria as an eastern region has the opportunity to receive more funds.
