The movement of trains between Vladaya and Gorna Banya was suspended today at around 2:00 p.m., the NRIC press center reported. The reason was an accident with passenger train 50280, traveling from Pernik to Sofia. The penultimate wheel axle of the last bogie of the electric multiple unit came off the rails.
The probable cause is the expansion of the railway track due to the high temperatures today. Emergency teams from the State Enterprise NRIC are at the scene, working to clear the railway and restore train traffic in the section.
Fast train 5612 from Petrich to Sofia and passenger train 50231 from Sofia to Dupnitsa have been diverted via Pernik – Voluyak – Sofia, and for passengers from trains 50205 from Sofia to Radomir and 50112 from Blagoevgrad to Sofia, bus transportation has been organized in the Dragichevo – Gorna Banya section.
