Prime Minister Rumen Radev categorically stated that Bulgaria is not threatened in connection with the presence of American tanker aircraft. At a special briefing in the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister made a clear distinction between the current situation and the actions of previous regular cabinets.
According to him, 15 American aircraft have been received at Sofia Airport in the past, whose stay was extended. They have performed missions in combat areas in the south of Bulgaria, including refueling strike aircraft for attacks on Iran. Radev stressed that the current government has taken measures for these 15 machines to leave the country.
The two American aircraft, which were subsequently stationed at the airbase “Bezmer“, have not made a single flight to the south. The Prime Minister specified that their flights were directed only to Alliance member states in the north and west to participate in joint exercises. “There can be no gimmicks on the back of national security“, the Prime Minister commented, criticizing political statements aimed at creating artificial tension. At the moment, the American planes have already left the airbase.

Regarding the scandal with the neutralized high-tech signal blocking device in the capital's “Dragalevtsi“ district, Rumen Radev revealed that the powerful GPS jammer was placed on a jeep.
The security services have already identified both the owner of the vehicle and the owner of the property where the equipment was found. According to statements by the Ministry of Interior and the National Agency for National Security, the device was extremely powerful, interfering with communication systems and GPS signals in the Sofia region. The Prime Minister announced that the Ministry of Interior and the services will come up with full and detailed data on the case by the end of the day.
Radev used the occasion to declare his determination to deal with criminal structures and oligarchic dependencies in the country. “We will not allow "The times of the Mutrens must exist in Bulgaria," the Prime Minister was categorical.
