The firefighters have almost brought the fire in Haskovo under control. At the moment, 14,000 acres have burned, with more than 2,000 being forests. No buildings or animals have been affected. This was announced on Nova TV by the director of the GDPBZN, Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov.
„A 13-year-old child decided to clean the grass and as a result this severe fire occurred. "Most likely he did it on his own," said Dzhartov.

According to him, the partial state of emergency will be lifted when the fire is localized.

It currently applies to the territory of the villages of Lyubenovo, Dinevo, Malevo, Krivo Pole and Koren.

The data from the State Fire Service also indicate that this year has been calmer - 19,000 fires have occurred so far, compared to 24,000 for the same period in 2025.
"In most cases, the reason is the desire to clean up a certain area," said Chief Commissioner Dzhartov.
