A new hearing on the case of the death of 14-year-old Filip, who died on a pedestrian crossing on Gurko Street in the capital in 2023, BNT reported.
The trial began anew after the previous court panel was disqualified following a request by Filip's relatives, who expressed doubts about his impartiality.
The accused in the accident, Petar Todorov, is under "house arrest".
Expert tests proved that he had run over Filip at a speed of nearly 90 km/h and with over 2 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
