Unemployment is highest in Vidin and Montana

The average unemployment rate is 5.8

Vidin and Montana regions have the highest levels of unemployment in February, according to the data of the Employment Agency.

The average percentage of people without a job is 5.8, explains BNR.

The long-term unemployed in February with registration over 1 year were 35,900. Their number increased by 1% on a monthly basis and by 10.4 per 100 annually. More than half of the long-term unemployed are over 50 years old with primary and lower education and no qualifications.

The analysis of the Employment Agency for the second month of this year shows that the newly registered unemployed number 19,910, decreasing by 25% compared to January, but compared to a year earlier, they increased by 9.4%. More than half of the newly unemployed are women - 15 out of 100 self-identify as Roma, 5% are people with reduced work capacity. Nearly 12,000 have been released from the private sector.

Their number decreased by 16% when compared to the previous month, and on an annual basis there was an increase of 13.5 per 100. The outflow from the Labor Offices numbered 20,600. Of them, over 12,400 found a job, those who dropped out of registrations during the month are 8,100. The most frequent reasons for this are related to non-implementation of the recommendations of the employment mediator.
