The taxi driver who nearly ran over a mother and child while crossing the capital's "Tolstoy" district has been identified. The case happened a few days ago, and in the group "Disasters in Sofia" a video was also shared. The driver was not detained, but he was sanctioned, SDVR reported to BNT.
"The driver was identified and sanctioned for the committed violations with an act - that he caused a traffic accident and fled. A penalty of BGN 200 is provided for not letting pedestrians cross. The same leaves the road accident, the sanction is from 100 to 300 BGN and revocation of the driver's license for a period of 1 to 6 months," added Inspector Viden Dimitrov from the "Road Police". to the SDVR.
He confirmed that the driver was an employee of a taxi company.
The footage was released yesterday afternoon. In the clip, a mother can be seen holding her child's hand as they cross to the 54th school "St. Ivan Rilski".
At the moment when both of them have almost crossed the street, the car hits them.
The driver did not stop. The mother and the child were not seriously injured, but the child is very scared after what happened.
