Assoc. Mira Mayer: Israel may strike sites from where two swarms of drones and missiles were launched

Imposing additional sanctions on Iran unlikely to affect Islamic republic's policy, Middle East policy expert said

„ That Israel will respond is indisputable. No one doubts it, but as reported when, where and exactly how it will happen is still shrouded in mystery. The most unpleasant option, for the world and for all people, is a strong response that resembles the attack on Iran.“

This is what Prof. Mira Mayer said in the Euronews Primetime studio – expert on politics in the Middle East and lecturer at New Bulgarian University.

„They may hit the locations from where the two swarms of drones and missiles were launched. The other option is to hit structural enterprises in the economy that are important, for example, power plants or other important sites on the territory of Iran. The third possible option is to hit objects of the Iranian nuclear program,” explained Prof. Meyer.

„Besides the hard option we have, we have various other, better options for us. One of them is a strike on Iran's cyber security. It is an asymmetric war already, because the Israelis are quite strong there. They could block various electronic systems, networks and other similar important Iranian objects, she added.

According to her, the imposition of additional sanctions against Iran will hardly affect the policy of the Islamic Republic.

Assoc. Mayer also cited a survey by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which showed that 74% of the Israeli population did not want to be answered without the support of the allies.
