The co-chairman of “We continue the change” Asen Vassilev refuted with facts the statement of the former Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov that there is no project for a city railway in Plovdiv in PVU. Asen Vassilev stated:” I am amazed that Atanas Pekanov, who has twice been the minister responsible for the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RSP), has not bothered to read it. Otherwise, he would have seen that a project for a city railway in Plovdiv, which will be financed under the PVU, is here:

In order to improve the rail transport service of Bulgaria's largest cities – including Sofia and Plovdiv, it is planned to organize the movement of regular suburban trains (type S-bahn) in their suburban areas."
Stage 184 and 186: “42 Electric Motor Trains (EMV) for passenger services in suburban transport with a maximum speed of 160 km/h, equipped with on-board equipment for ERTMS — 7 double-decker EMBs with a minimum capacity of 300 seats and 35 single-decker EMBs with a minimum capacity of 200 seats“
