Higher salaries for military personnel from next year were also adopted in the second reading by the Parliamentary Commission on Defense with changes to the Law on Defense and Armed Forces, BTA reports.
At the end of last week, the amendments were approved in the plenary hall in the first reading and provide that from January 1, 2025, the remuneration of military personnel will increase by an average of 30%.
The basis for determining the amount of the basic monthly remuneration for the lowest position is determined annually on the basis of the average salary for the second quarter of the previous year. Thus, the basic monthly remuneration is increased by a factor compared to the base, as follows: for officers - not less than 1.2; for officer candidates, sergeants and soldiers - not less than 1.0. The Minister of Defense will determine the basis for the amount of remuneration with his act, the MPs from the commission agreed.
According to the proposed changes, the monthly remuneration of servicemen occupying key positions may exceed by up to 80 percent the amount of the monthly remuneration for the relevant job level, defined in the act of the Minister of Defense. p>
The commission accepted the proposal of “Revival”, if there is deflation and the average salary in the country falls, this should not affect the remuneration of military personnel.
