I accept the nomination as an assessment of everything I have done in the European Parliament for Bulgaria. I think that I managed to make a breakthrough on various topics in the last 5 years. I would accept an invitation from a party that gives me the freedom to continue fighting my battles. Mr. Peevski called me three days ago. He made me this offer, and I told him I had to think about it. I said that I will accept if I have the freedom to be what I have always been. This is what MEP Elena Yoncheva said, quoted by Nova TV.

DPS-Blagoevgrad announced on Monday that at the meeting of the party's Regional Council, a decision was made to include Elena Yoncheva among the candidates nominated for members of the European Parliament. In the current European Parliament, she is an MP from the BSP in the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.

"In the Migration Pact, for the first time, there will be concrete measures to limit illegal migration and will carry out controls. I was the rapporteur for the media act, which provides real protection for journalists from political persecution and censorship. It will be very difficult to remove quality journalistic posts from social media. Non-EU sites will not be able to say when to download material, the rating will be European. I also had a breakthrough with anti-corruption legislation. I am also working on a project for the prevention of canalism. If I have support and the freedom to defend my topics, I would accept a nomination, she commented.

In response to Cornelia Ninova's words that she was addicted, Yoncheva asked what. "Everything I have done in the EP shows that I have no addictions," she declared.
